I started this blog intending to tell you about the times I was working on the cruise ships and about the places I have seen. I was never thinking that I would start travelling so far again. So, since I am travelling again, I will share my thoughts and impressions on Singapore and every now and then, go back to those crazy times from the ship and share the memories with you.
Two years ago I said to myself that I don't want to work in casino anymore. At least not as dealer. But I heard about this glamorous hotel and casino opening this year in Singapore and once I saw the jobs available, my fingers started "running on the keyboard" and applying without even asking me! :) The only reason for my leaving was the fact that I couldn't save any money in Budapest. Still had unsolved problems that would require money so... I stepped on my heart, cried some and said good bye to the love of my life for the next year. I believe that me and my boyfriend can have a long distance relationship for a while and hope everything works out.The only thing that made my decision easier was the fact that he could have easily come with me, but he chose to stay. He had travelled enough, he was tired of packing and unpacking and he got tired of working in casino, so, we both decided that I should go, fulfil my plan and hurry up back in his arms.
I got to Singapore after a long and tiring flight and the company offered me one week accommodation in their new luxurious hotel, until I find a place to rent.
I enjoyed that week as much as I could and got the chance to be alone with my thoughts and have answered a lot of questions that I had locked inside my heart.
I realized that this leaving is nothing like the one 3 years ago, when I left my ex for working on the cruise ships. At that time, I knew very well that the relationship HAD TO finish, but now... I know I love this man and this relationship like I never loved anyone before. I cannot imagine myself with anybody else.
But let's get back to Singapore. :) The Marina Bay Sands resort is not completely finished yet. From what I saw, they are still working to bring to life the theater right across the hotel. This place is awesome, I tell you! especially for people that know... cash! I was a kind of Cinderella in the last week, walking among the rich people, getting to bathe in the Infinity Pool, being called "madam" non-stop. I told the people working there on every occasion I had, that I was about to become their colleague and I am no... Paris Hilton.
The hotel has right across the street "The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands", a very cool and totally posh mall hosting just big brands like : Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo and lots of other jewelery shops all over the place. This mall is all about rich shiny stuff! :) After a week living around these "masterpieces", I got a bit sick of the luxury. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but it was really too much! I don't have too posh tastes, but not too poor ones either. I like it somewhere in the middle, let's say. And... "lucky me", I always live in extremes.
Let's talk about... SKYPARK! People that are not hosted at the Marina Bay Sands hotel can get tickets and go up at the 57th. floor and take cool pictures from up there. Only the hotel guests have access to the swimming pool. The swimming pool is one of the coolest things I ever got to see! It is the "infinity" type and you get to take awesome pictures on its edge :). Palm trees, white couches, white pillows, white long chairs placed in the water, jacuzzi, nice view at the city and at the ocean, green lights under the water at night... cool place, what can I say? Very soon, the city will host Singapore Formula 1 and some famous stars will be hosted here, I suppose. Again, "lucky me"... was hosted there a few weeks before that would happen :(.
Still have a lot to say just about this first week in Singapore, but, next time!
Cheers!
